I really had all kinds of plans to write over the weekend. I got a new scale and some new dietary supplements, and I planned on writing all about them.
But I didn’t. I really wish I had something really cool and exciting happen that prevented me from writing, but nope. To be totally honest with you, I have no excuse what so ever! As a matter of fact, I even had Friday off of work because I got snowed in. It was crazy how much snow we had. Some parts of our driveway were over a foot deep in snow. How bad is that? I never even left the house all weekend.
I did have my Grandchildren over Saturday for a sleepover and then spent most of Sunday recovering. I also totally jacked on my diet and ate pizza Saturday. It’s what the kids wanted for dinner and I was not about to go running to the store with the roads being a crappy as they were. So… I put almost a pound back on. But on a good note, my new scale rocks!
This is the new scale I bought. The brand is Adoric. Now I have no idea if this is a well known brand for scales since I haven’t bought one in about 15 years. But I do know that I really like it. All I had to do is download the app and once I put the batteries in the scale it synced right up with my phone. Every morning I step on it with my phone in rang and it sends all the info right to my phone. Is that cool or what?????
So this scale tells me my weight, BMI, Body fat %, Body Water, Bone Mass, Visceral Fat, & BMR. I have no idea how it knows this, but it does. It even has a little graph that shows your progress. So for only $39.99, I’m super happy with it so far. Now, I haven’t gotten into how to program more than one person, although I know you can. My husband doesn’t care about all that stuff, so it’s just me using it.
The other thing I bought, which I’ve started using is Konjac Root. This the is the dietary supplement that I was talking about. So, I’ve been trying it for a couple days now and I have to say, I think it’s working! Before I go into what it is exactly, I will tell you how I even came to hear of this….
As we all know, there are so many different weight loss and health management programs out there its insane. Well, I’ve been hearing some hype about this one… it has a weird name that I cannot remember off the top of my head, but I started to look into it. It turns out to be one of those programs with shakes and protein bars and different types of dietary supplements and vitamins. What caught my eye about this, was the claim that everything was all natural and plant based. This is easy enough to figure out if it’s true… just read the ingredients on the label, which I did. From what I could see, it really was a true claim. So… like every other cheap ass out there, I decided to see start pricing this out.
One of the supplements they offered that I saw people talking about, was one that was supposed to help curb your hunger and help you eat less. And as most people know, or at least I hope most people know, the 2 most important things in weight loss are what you eat and how much you eat. Once you can control those two things, you can lose weight. Scout’s honor! So when I hear of an all natural product that helps control one of the two major keys of weight loss, I get all excited. When I saw that this supplement cost $99 for 60 pills (which is only a 20 day supply since you take it 3 times a day) my excited dropped. That’s a lot of money. Now, I’m willing to pay it if it works… but how do I know if it will work for me?
But wait! If this stuff is all natural, then shouldn’t I be able to find the ingredients myself? So that is what I did. I check out what was in this $99 bottle of hunger control goodness and you know what I found? Yeah, it’s Konjac Root. Ok, so what is Konjac Root? Well, it is a root that is ground into a powder. When you mix this powder with water, it turns into a this gel like goo. Sounds appetizing, I know! But this goo is full of healthy fiber that helps you feel full while keeping your digestion on track. And not to be gross, but if you are anything like me, when I diet my intestines don’t like to work very well. So double bonus! You feel full and it helps keep you regular! Actually it’s a triple bonus because it is all natural so you are not putting a bunch of synthetic junk in your system.
They make this in either pills or you can buy the powder. The powder you have to mix with water or juice and drink it. I’m not big on the idea of drinking goo, so I got the pills. Not sure if they work as good as the powder, but so far they seem to really be helping. You take one pill 30 to 45 minutes before you eat with 8 ounces of water. That’s it. I find they work better if I take it 45 minutes before I eat and I always drink more than just 8 ounces of water. But that’s just me.
Even though I am up a little on the scale, I think between the pizza and pop and bread sticks, it would be a lot worse if I had not been taking these little suckers the rest of the day. I take one before I head to work and then by the time I get to work, my juice smoothie is perfect and I am able to make it to lunch without feeling like I’m starving. Oh! I almost forgot… the bottle of just the Konjac Root (which I put the link in a couple paragraphs ago) is only $11 and some change for 180 pills! How nice is that? Talk about a HUGE savings when you don’t throw some fancy name on it!
If anyone else out there tries it, let me know what you think! I would love to hear from you!!!!!!
Ok, well… it’s getting late and I am ready for my pjs. You all have a wonderful and happy evening and I will catch you tomorrow!
See ya wouldn’t want to be ya!!!
